2008 Highlights - May

Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota

We arrived at a rest stop in the park and didn't expect to find bison wandering around

We took a tour of The Little Big Horn with a lot of fog in the area.  When the fog lifted we could see the Big Horn Mountains about fifty-five miles in the distance and headed that way.

Then we traveled down the other side of the mountain into Wyoming

A memorable stop on our way to Alaska was White Sulphur Springs, Montana.  This town is a springboard for many heading north across the Canadian Boarder at Sweetgrass, MT.  The scenery is great.  The town is quaint.  The ranches are huge.  We saw the only golden eagle we've seen to date just a few miles from this campground.

This hawk almost let Pat come up and pet him.

A view of the nearby town of Harlowton.
